Cartier Embraces The Natural World With Latest High Jewelry Collection

LifeStyle

After months in lockdown in New York, simple pleasures like sun, water, wildflowers feel all the more precious. That’s just what the master jewelers at Cartier had in mind for their latest high jewelry collection, [Sur] Naturel.

With the goal of “freeing nature from reality’s constraints,” artisans looked to all manner of flora and fauna while exploring the path from figuration to abstraction. The Panthère Tropical wristwatch nods to Cartier’s four-legged mascot with onyx and white diamond “spots” set against juicy orange coral and 20.58 carats of blue aquamarine and tourmaline, capturing all the beauty of a tropical rainforest.

Even more exotic: the serpentine Opheis necklace in white gold, onyx and diamonds which wind their way to a whopping 53.94 carat Zambian emerald. This is undoubtedly jewelry for being noticed, but whether or not one is in the market for, say, a five carat sapphire ring, the message is one that anyone can adopt: stop and smell the roses.
