Bandcamp Extends Artist-Assisting Fridays Through May 2021

Music

In March, Bandcamp announced an initiative to help musicians affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the platform waiving its percentage cut for sales made on the first Friday of each month. After the final Bandcamp Friday of 2020 on December, the company has announced an extension of the program. Bandcamp Fridays will continue through May 2021: February 5, March 5, April 2, and May 7. (There will not be a Bandcamp Friday on January 1, 2021.)

In addition to the Bandcamp Friday extension, Bandcamp revealed that fans spent $40 million through the monthly promotions. In November, the platform launched a new livestream feature for artists to hosts remote shows.
