The Wish Wall Foundation Partners with iRead To Live Initiative to Rebuild a library Facility in Nigeria.

The Wish Wall Foundation, and iRead To Live Initiative in Nigeria has successfully completed the remodeling of a Library facility in Nigeria to support literacy and transform education in rural communities in Nigeria.

Last year, the Executive Director of iRead To Live Initiative, Jacob Sule accompanied by Ayisat Abiona, Director of Program at iRead To Live Initiative visited some schools in Osun State, Nigeria as part of their intervention for literacy and efforts to transform education in Nigeria. They were displeased by what they saw and reached out to the Wish Wall Foundation for support in rebuilding and donating books to the library, Jacob added. The Founder of Wish Wall Foundation, Ms. Simonetta Lein graciously approved funding for the library renovation.

Earlier in the year, Jacob had attended the Transforming Education Summit held during the United Nations Annual Summit in New York where the Youth Declaration on Transforming Education was launched. Jacob said, I am committed to ensuring that All boys and Girls have a chance to quality education in Nigeria and Africa. For him, reaching out to the Wish Wall Foundation was a dream come true to support education and literacy in Nigeria.

Upon receiving funding from the Wish Wall Foundation, iRead To Live Initiative hired skilled laborers for the reconstruction of the external and internal walls and floors, painters to paint the library, and artisans to build new books shelves, chairs, and tables. The remodeling of the current library facility has been completed and furnished with shelves, chairs, tables, and books on various subjects. The pupils of A.U.D Primary School, Erin-Osun, now have a comfortable space to read, study in their free time, and learn more about their mental health and good living.

During the presentation of the books and opening ceremony of the library, Teachers, and Students in their numbers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Wish Wall and iRead To Live Initiative for their intervention. “We thank the Wish Wall, Simonetta Lein and iRead To Live Initiative for their kind gestures” The Head Teacher; Mrs. Ademola Shakira said.

In a telephone conversation with Simonetta Lein, she expressed her gratitude and excitement about the completion of the library project in Nigeria. According to Simonetta, “We are so proud to support children in Nigeria with this newly remodeled library. It is our joy that these pupils will now have a new perception on literacy and education while I look forward to meeting with them in the future.”

We thank the Wish Wall Foundation!
