After making headlines for wearing a corset minidress to the MTV VMAs after-party, Selena Gomez continued to incorporate a little boudoir fashion into her day-to-day style this week.
The singer shared a selfie today in a tan bustier and high-waist jeans. Her hair was styled down and straight like it had been during the award show.
Gomez has had a big week following her surprise appearance at the Newark, New Jersey, ceremony. Business-wise, her Rare Beauty line launched a limited-edition red lipstick along with its Hispanic Heritage Month campaign.
Gomez shared a selfie, wearing the red lipstick on Instagram yesterday. “A red lip is an instant confidence boost for me, and I wanted to share that empowering feeling with you. ❤️” she wrote. “That’s why I created the limited edition @rarebeauty Kind Words Matte Lipstick in Devoted, a true red that’s flattering on all skin tones. 100% of sales will go to the Rare Impact Fund to increase access to mental health services and education for young people around the world.”
The lipstick is sold out currently but is available to shop here on Rare Beauty’s site once it restocks.
Gomez also commented on the internet chatter around her audience reactions at the VMAs. She made it clear on her Instagram Stories the morning after the ceremony that she was not pleased with people harassing her or making jokes about her just watching the show.
“I will never be a meme again,” she shared. “I’d rather sit still than be dragged for being myself. Much love.”
