Post Malone debuted an unreleased song during his performance at the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards.
Hosted by country icon Reba McEntire, this year’s ACM Awards were held at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas on Thursday (May 16).
Posty performed two songs – debuting a currently unreleased song that will presumably appear on his forthcoming country album. The song seems to be about a fleeting relationship as he sings in the refrain: “It’s a long lost highway / And this road ain’t my friend / I will love you ’til tomorrow / And I’ll never love you again.” At the end, Posty said, “No one had ever heard the song before”.
He then launched into a rendition of ‘I Had Some Help’. This song originally featured country megastar Morgan Wallen, but the singer did not join Malone for his first-ever ACMAs performance. Watch the full set below.

After his performance, McEntire joined Posty on stage to pay tribute to the late Dickey Betts from the Allman Brothers Band.
She asked Malone, “If you would, let’s sing a little bit of ‘Ramblin’ Man’, OK?” – to which he replied, “I don’t see why not”.
Reba then asked him to play a quick G-chord before they sang a stunning a cappella rendition of the group’s 1973 classic. The duo took turns on the first few lines before coming together harmoniously on the chorus. Afterwards, Post offered a sweet shout-out to his mom.
Betts – who was the lead guitarist and vocalist for the legendary band – died last month following a battle with cancer at age 80.

Earlier this month, Malone dropped ‘I Had Some Help’ with Morgan Wallen. He has been teasing his country era for a while, playing a cover of Hank Willliams’ ‘Honky Tonk Blues’ during a surprise show in Nashville last month.
Back in 2022, Malone told Howard Stern that he considered making a country album. “To be honest, there’s nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album and putting it on fucking YouTube,” he said.
In 2021, he also performed two country covers of songs by Brad Paisley and Sturgill Simpson for the We’re Texas relief fundraiser livestream.
This year, Malone has featured on two high-profile albums. He featured on ‘Fortnight’ – the lead single from Taylor Swift’s all-conquering ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ – as well as collaborated with Beyoncé on the track ‘Levii’s Jeans’ from her album ‘Cowboy Carter’.
