Sexyy Red has a new mixtape out today. The 14-track In Sexyy We Trust includes a new song with the St. Louis rapperâs âRich Baby Daddyâ collaborator Drake. Listen to the song, âU My Everything,â below.
Tay Keith and Drumatized served as the executive producers of In Sexyy We Trust, and Keith, in particular, produced âU My Everything.â Midway through Drakeâs verse, however, a familiar beat pops up: âBBL Drizzy,â the diss instrumental that St. Louis producer Metro Boomin made available for free earlier this month. At that point in the track, Drake acknowledges the beat, rapping, âBBL Drizzy, they want a new body, they ask me for it.â
Metro Boomin dropped âBBL Drizzyâ after Drake dissed him on âFamily Matters.â The producer encouraged artists to make their own songs using the instrumental.
With their full-lengths We Donât Trust You and We Still Donât Trust You, Metro Boomin and his collaborator Future kickstarted the beef that has engrossed the hip-hop world this spring. Both albums are believed to be filled with veiled shots at Drake, and Kendrick Lamar used his guest verse on the first recordâs âLike Thatâ to take aim at the Canadian rapper. An array of diss tracks ensued, including Lamarâs âEuphoria,â which features the line, âWhen I see you stand by Sexyy Red, I believe you see two bad bitches.â
Tensions between Drake and Kendrick Lamar have, for the most part, cooled, but you can catch up on the whole situation with Alphonse Pierreâs âDrake and Kendrickâs Beef Is the Most Miserable Spectacle in Rap History.â
