When Is Amazon Prime Day 2024?

Amazon confirmed that Prime Day 2024 will take place on July 16 and 17. It follows the e-commerce giant’s tradition of running the sale across two days during the second week of July.

Amazon announced the dates for its 10th annual shopping event with the help of Megan Thee Stallion, who released an original song and music video titled, “It’s Prime Day,” ahead of her new album, Megan.

Do You Need to Be a Prime Member to Shop Amazon Prime Day?

In short, yes. As the name suggests, Prime Day is Amazon’s deal event exclusively for Prime members, so you’ll want to sign up for a membership before you start shopping. The good news: Amazon has a 30-day free trial so you can test out a subscription before you commit. Subscriptions auto-renew at $14.99 per month or $139 per year.

If you’re a student between the ages of 18 to 24, you can try Prime Student free for six months; after that, pay only $7.49 monthly or $69 annually.

While some deals will be made available to all Amazon shoppers, the best Prime Day deals are reserved for Prime members.

Amazon Prime Day 2024: Best Shopping Tips

Just as in past years, Prime members can sign up for alerts for personalized deals on online doorbusters ahead of the event. Those who don’t yet have an Amazon Prime membership can ensure access to the sale by getting a 30-day free trial.

You can stay updated on the best Prime Day 2024 discounts by signing up for the invite-only deals program, subscribing to deal alerts through the Prime Day event page, following your favorite brands, using the Amazon Shopping app and setting reminders via the Alexa voice assistant. You’ll receive personalized push notifications on recently-viewed items and more, and you can ask Alexa to add products to your Cart, Wish List or Save for Later list and then request deal notifications on those items.

Prime Day is also where Amazon will drop a number of digital deals, on Kindle books and Audible audiobooks, plus steep discounts and offers on Prime Video channels and Amazon Music.

Megan Thee Stallion is also sharing her own favorites from the sale alongside her top finds on Amazon; learn more and shop here. The “Not My Fault” singer joins others in sharing their top deal picks, including Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, actress Alyssa McKay, influencers Alix Earle and Meredith Duxbury, athlete Jess Sims, YouTuber Monet McMichael, college basketball star Jared McCain and others.

Top Amazon Prime Day Offers, How to Earn Shopping Credits

Eligible Prime members earn a $200 Amazon gift card when they are approved for the Prime Visa credit card from through July 24, or an $80 Amazon gift card upon approval for a Prime Store Card until July 17. Learn more about the offers here.

Prime members also earned a $20 credit by downloading the Amazon Photos app and automatically backing up their phone images. (The promo has since expired.)

According to Amazon, Prime members saved over $2.5 billion by shopping deals during Prime Day last year.
