Girls’ Generation vocalist Taeyeon has announced new solo music to be released in November.

Taeyeon made the official announcement on October 28 at midnight KST through the release of a video teaser titled “Letter To Myself”. The clip features a brief 16-second clip of Taeyeon’s side profile, formatted to look like it was captured on an old film reel.

In accompanying social media posts, SM Entertainment revealed that Taeyeon is set to release her sixth solo mini-album, also titled ‘Letter To Myself’, on November 18 at 6pm KST. More information regarding a lead single and tracklist have yet to be shared as of writing.

Taeyeon’s forthcoming solo release will mark her first in a little under a year. She last released her fifth mini-album ‘To. X’ in late November 2023, which featured a lead single of the same name.

In the time since, Taeyeon joined forces with English singer Sam Smith to release a renewed version of his 2014 track ‘I’m Not The Only One’. The re-recorded version features new Korean lyrics during the first verse and half of the bridge. The song was released in August as part of celebrations for the 10th anniversary of Smith’s debut album.

In other K-pop news, BTS’ Jin has recently released the first pre-release track from his upcoming solo debut album, ‘Happy’. Titled ‘I’ll Be There’, the song pays homage to the rockabilly genre, with influences of pop rock and trot. The full album is due out on November 15, making him the seventh and final BTS member to release a solo record.
