Bandcamp Expands In-House Vinyl Pressing Service

Music

In 2019, Bandcamp started a new service that allowed artists to sell vinyl through an in-house pressing service. Through crowdfunding campaigns powered by customer orders, artists could sell vinyl produced and shipped by Bandcamp. Today, the company has announced that the vinyl pressing service—which started on a limited trial basis for a handful of artists—is being expanded and offered to more artists.

The company contacted 10,000 artists today to invite them to participate in the program and plan to offer the vinyl pressing option to more artists throughout 2021. The vinyl pressing initiative is being offered alongside monthly Bandcamp Fridays, where artists make more money as Bandcamp waives its cut of sales for the first Friday of each month through May 2021.
