Doja Cat to Host MTV VMAs 2021

Doja is up for five awards at this year’s ceremony, including Video and Artist of the Year

Doja Cat has been announced as the host for MTV’s 2021 Video Music Awards. Doja broke the news in an Instagram post earlier today (August 25), which you can find below. The singer is nominated for five awards at this year’s ceremony: Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration (“Kiss Me More” [ft. SZA]), Best Art Direction (Saweetie ft. Doja Cat: “Best Friend”), and Best Visual Effects (Doja Cat & The Weeknd: “You Right”). Find the full list of nominees here.

In addition to her hosting duties, Doja Cat will perform at this year’s VMAs, which will return to New York City on Sunday, September 12. The show will broadcast live from Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn starting at 8 p.m. Eastern. Other performers include Lorde, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, Chloe Bailey (of Chloe x Halle), Shawn Mendes, and more. Doja Cat performed at last year’s Video Music Awards, singing a medley of “Say So” and “Like That.”
