Glen Powell goes undercover in the first teaser trailer for Hulu‘s Chad Powers.

The Anyone but You star portrays quarterback Russ Holliday, who disguises himself as a fictional person and walks onto a struggling football team in the South after bad behavior nukes his college career.

“I got something coming up,” he says in the teaser that shows him walking onto the team after putting on a wig to change how he looks. “Something kind of big.”

The comedy series is based on an episode of ESPN+’s Eli’s Places, in which former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning went undercover as a walk-on prospect named Chad Powers at Penn State. In addition to starring in it, Powell co-created and executive-produced the show alongside Loki‘s Michael Waldron.

The brief teaser marked the first individual look at the upcoming project, in addition to a two-minute preview of Hulu and Disney+’s slate released in November.

Powell and Waldron shared a joint statement when Chad Powers was announced in February. “We’re both diehard college football fans,” they said. “When we saw Eli as Chad Powers, we knew that was the way into a big, fun story about this world. We’re excited to be part of this team, and can’t wait to get Chad in the game. Think fast, run fast.”

The Twisters star briefly opened up about his experience becoming Chad Powers in the Ted Lasso-style Hulu comedy series, being produced by Eli and Payton Manning. He told The Hollywood Reporter in a cover story published in May that the role was one of the hardest he’s ever attempted.

He teased, “He’s like the worst dude on the planet who puts on the mask of the most genial southern guy you’ve ever seen”
