Some might argue that Harry Styles is becoming an icon in his own right. But he won’t be filling the shoes of international British spy and icon James Bond. Per The Daily Mail, the singer will not be replacing Daniel Craig in the role, despite rumors otherwise.
A representative for Styles told the Mail that the rumors that the singer is the next Bond “aren’t even remotely true.” The Mail reports that a source previously said “Harry is deadly serious. He has had a series of high-level meetings about becoming 007. Harry believes he is the final two.” The source continued: “Harry is a new age British man…he’s confident in his own skin and making him Bond would signal the franchise changing with the times.”
Styles is well aware that people would love to see him take on the role of 007, though he’s never seemed to take the idea seriously.
“I mean, who wouldn’t?” Styles said, during an interview with Britain’s Hits Radio when he was asked about his interest in playing Bond. “I grew up watching those. You know, I loved him when I was a kid. So I think it’s kind of everyone’s dream a little bit, right?”

The Mail points out that Styles’s name isn’t the only one that’s been thrown around in relation to the Bond franchise. James Norton, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and David Beckham have all come up at some point.
Let us all take the appropriate time we need to feel sad that the next Bond will not be Harry Styles. Just another 2020 letdown.
