TriVersity Talk! is a weekly web series with featured guests discussing their lives, activism and pressing issues in the LGBTQ Community. With TriVersity Talk!, the goal is to laugh and learn.

John Hellman is the Founder and President of the Zimmermann-Pierce Democrats, Pike County’s first Democratic club dedicated to LGBTQ issues. He has over 15 years’ experience working in LGBTQ, HIV/AIDS and other social justice spaces from New York City to Milford, PA. Currently, he serves as the State Committeeperson for the Pike County Democrats, Inspector of Elections for the Dingman 2 Electoral Precinct, and in 2024, he was selected to serve as DNC Delegate for the Biden Campaign. He has been involved in three political campaigns, working as Campaign Manager for Meg Rosenfeld, Candidate for the 139th PA State House District in 2022, Field Director for Christa Caceres, who won her election for Pike County Commissioner in 2023, and currently as Field Director for Robin Skibber, Candidate for the 139th PA State House District in the 2024 election cycle. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Triversity Pride Center from 2017 to 2024. For the past 6 years, John has also performed as drag queen Belle Pepper and entertains throughout the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania tri-state region. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Women’s Studies from Boston College and a Master’s Degree in Humanities and Social Thought from New York University. He lives in Milford, PA with his devoted husband John Henry and two adorable cats, Cleo and Charlie.
Growing up in a supportive and inclusive environment, Lisa Jenkins witnessed the transformative power of acceptance and equality. However, she also recognized the challenges and discrimination faced by many within the LGBTQ community. This awareness ignited a passion within Lisa Jenkins to become an advocate for LGBTQ rights, promoting a society where every individual is celebrated for their authentic selves. Her diverse background in mental health case management and alter hospitality events equips her with the skills to contribute to the organization’s strategic planning, program development, and community outreach. She brings a collaborative and empathetic approach to the board, valuing open dialogue and collective decision-making. She believes that together we can create a society where LGBTQ individuals are not only accepted but celebrated for their unique contributions. She is humbled and honored to serve on the board of Triversity and look forward to making a meaningful impact on the lives of LGBTQ individuals, their families and our communities.
