Kendrick Lamar is celebrating Independence Day with the music video for his chart-topping Drake diss song, âNot Like Us.â Watch the video, directed by Lamar and his pgLang co-founder, Dave Free, below.
The triumphal âNot Like Usâ visual opens with Lamar rapping a bit of a new track that includes the line âKeep a horn on me, that Kamasi.â Later, there are cameos from California figures including Tommy the Clown, Compton native and former Toronto Raptors All-Star DeMar DeRozan, producer Mustard (pointedly wearing a Toronto Blue Jays cap), and Anthony âTop Dawgâ Tiffith.
Lamar also takes further jabs at Drake and Octoberâs Very Own by smashing an owl piñata and gazing at a caged owl. Plus, Lamar dances with his partner, Whitney Alford, and two children. (Drake had questioned Lamarâs family dynamics on diss tracks like âFamily Matters.â)
The new âNot Like Usâ video follows Lamarâs Pop Out concert that took place on Juneteenth in Inglewood, California. Read more in âKendrick Lamarâs Pop Out Concert: A West Coast Reunion and Unforgettable Hatersâ Ballâ on the Pitch.
