South Korean actress Kim Tae-ri has shared how she was “restrained” once because she was too excited about attending a concert by K-pop girl group WJSN.

In a new episode of YouTube talk show Salon Drip, Kim Tae-ri an appearance with Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born co-star Shin Ye-eun to promote the upcoming period K-drama. During the episode, the host shared that she heard Kim “got restrained for cheering too aggressively” at a WJSN concert.

Kim is notably close friends with WJSN singer and actress Bona, who she starred opposite in the hit 2022 K-drama Twenty Five Twenty One.

“Since it was an idol’s concert, I thought people were there to have fun together. But I was forced to be seated, so I was like ‘what’s happening?’,” Kim shared with a laugh, playing out her actions at the show.

“You get excited when hearing music, right? I was jumping up and down because I was excited, but I was told not to do that,” she explained. “I thought you could just stand up when you want to, but you can’t.”

Elsewhere during the episode, Kim and Shin also spoke about their roles in Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born, calling them complete opposites. “Yeong-seo is the hardworking type. She wants to be recognised and achieve what she’s planned. A perfect elite singer,” said Shin.

They also discussed the two characters’ rivalry in the series, and Shin shared that she thought she would have become closer to Kim if she was playing a different role, as their scenes together were usually serious and tense.

“I wanted to giggle and laugh with her too,” she said.  “So, I wrote her a letter on her birthday saying, ‘don’t have too much fun with other people! I get jealous’,” Shin laughed.

Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born will premiere on October 12 on tvN, airing on Saturdays and Sundays. The series will also be available on Disney+ in selected regions.
