Lily Collins, Finneas, and More Celebrate Cartier’s Clash [Un]limited Collection

LifeStyle

Cartier kicked off the launch of its Clash [Un]limited capsule collection last night in West Hollywood with a glitzy rooftop dinner and private viewing of the Clash [Un]limited Exhibition. The creative project was made collaboration with singer-songwriter Finneas, who provided the musical entertainment for the evening. “Clash represents the opportunity to redefine and rediscover what it is about art that moves me the most,” Finneas said of his performance. “In crafting this piece, my intention was to create something that flowed seamlessly between the different sonic landscapes that have inspired me most throughout my life. The power of a delicate piano, the aggression of an overdrive guitar and the pulsing heartbeat of an electric leaning dance track.”

The Clash [Un]limited Exhibition is an immersive experience—viewers can explore the inner workings of the storied French jeweler as well as the extraordinary craftsmanship required to bring its pieces to life. The dreamlike mise-en-scène is a surrealist ode to Cartier’s iconic flagship on the Place Vendôme in Paris.

The Clash [Un]limited collection plays with extremes in both material and silhouette and seeks to defy the standard conventions of high jewelry and fine watches. With its deceptively simple strand of studs and beads, the Clash design is at once sophisticated and daring. Meander through the exhibition’s winding corridors and earrings, bracelets, and rings in a shagreen setting of white gold and amethyst will delight the eye, along with a stunning reversible necklace in white gold, onyx, and diamonds. Other must-see pieces on display include conical onyx rings with diamond inlay, studded bracelets, and a watch aptly named the “mitten” in rose gold mesh and diamonds.

Brand ambassadors Lily Collins and Ella Balinska, actor Dan Levy, and the ever-fabulous Kathy and Nicky Hilton noshed on canapés and sipped custom cocktails by Michelin-star chef Curtis Stone. The soirée concluded with a round of decadent desserts by pastry chef Chris Ford, who took inspiration from the Clash collection to create black chocolate picot domes filled with matte silver mini macarons.

The Clash [Un]limited capsule pieces will be available to shop upon the opening of the exhibition to the public on August 25. The exhibition is located at 8552 Melrose Avenue and will run from August 25 to September 1.
