Mach-Hommy plans to release his new album #RichAxxHaitian on Friday, May 17âone day ahead of Haitian Flag Day. According to a press release, itâs the final installment of a âtetralogyâ that he began in 2016 with the standout HBO (Haitian Body Odor) and continued in 2021 with Pray for Haiti and Balens Cho (Hot Candles). In a press statement, Mach-Hommy said, âIâve always wanted to rep for Haiti and the cultural and intellectual richness weâve provided the world.â The Haitian American rapper continued, âFrom our musical styles like kontradans that have influenced world music, our natural resources which provide so much raw material for so many important advancements in technology, our thinkers that pioneered philosophical movements and Black pride, and our spiritual leaders who kept the religious traditions of Guinea alive and intact, the religious traditions of Ayitiâ¦.â
