The first batch of performers for MTV’s 2020 VMAs has been announced. BTS, J Balvin, and Doja Cat will perform at the ceremony, which airs live on Sunday, August 30 at 8 p.m. Eastern. BTS will use their debut VMA appearance to premiere a new English-language single called “Dynamite.”
Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga lead this year’s field with nine nominations each. The Video of the Year nominees are Billie Eilish, Eminem (featuring the late Juice WRLD), Future (featuring Drake), Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and the Weeknd. Due to social distancing regulations, the Brooklyn ceremony will take place before “limited or no audience” members.
