How did you get involved in this particular project?

I’m an international peace maker and I have been working with indigenous people for about 50 years and all kinds of projects. A number of years ago a Kogi Mamo came to me when I was speaking in India and shared with me the fact that the Mamos for the Kogi Tribe felt that I might be able to help them. That led to a later time about four years ago, when four major spiritual leaders for the people of the Amazon, representing the four main peoples approached me. They told me that there was a prophecy that a white man with blue eyes who was a peacemaker who would come and unite all of the indigenous people of the Amazon …. And they thought it was me.

How did they come to find you as I don’t think they have radio or television or news programs in the forests of the Amazon ?

After I agreed to help the Kogi and after they sent several Mamos here, they shared with me that in 1964 they determined that there was supposed to be a prophecy, somebody coming to help them unite, and that the Amazon would be in danger burning the forests and the people dying, and the water was being polluted. But in order to have that person they needed to take action. So, in the end of 1964 they did a ritual on top of the mountains to create some kind of change that would create the guy in the prophecy who would help him to gain what was necessary so when the time came he would be prepared. Well in 1965 I was driving to my girlfriend. I was 15 years old on a motorcycle with a drunk woman going 60 miles an hour who hit me broadside and I was pronounced dead. I was documented as dead for 7 1/2 minutes. I went through a tunnel of light and I had an experience, and that experience transformed my life and made me make a commitment to serve humanity and indigenous peoples, and I’ve been doing that for 53 years. When the Kogi came they told me that they are the ones who caused the accident.

That’s intense.

It’s some crazy stuff. So ultimately, they knew I was out there. And they were watching. I had become a major player of world peace and planetary sustainability. I received the Mahatma Gandhi Award, I received the Ralph Bunchie International Peace Award, I went to the UN and other things like that. Through one means or another they heard of me and so they literally decided that it was me, so they came to India to a giant gathering. They approached me there and asked me if I would commit to step into this prophecy and I agreed to do so. Things were just kind of going along and then it turns out Joey met with some Kogi and that turned into he and I talking. We realized that we were both moving into the same space and we decided to come together. Then people said that they believed that that was supposed to happen. So ultimately, I’m just going along making peace in the world and helping indigenous people and doing things like that. A Kogi and four other indigenous elders from the four main peoples of the Amazon, representing roughly about 300 tribal groups came to me and said that this was the time for the prophecy to happen and that I needed to show up and make it happen. So now I am currently doing that.

After Love Amazon what are your plans to continue raising awareness ?

The biggest thing that’s going on that people should know about is that the Kogi, who are the first group that we are meeting with, are seen by many of the other tribal groups as being the one to balance the planet, the world and they have been  at the helm of steering things spiritually for thousands of years. The Conquistadors when they came the Kogi are the only tribe that survived and was never taken over by anybody. They escaped into the high mountains and for 550 years no one even knew that they existed. So they stayed in their original form and have never been tainted like any other tribe. One of the things the Conquistador’s did was destroy their temple which is called “the temple that balances the universe.” It was where they would send their energy and all these spiritual people to direct it like a control box to the rest of the world. But the conquistadors destroyed it so they could no longer do that.

So, the first thing the prophecy said is that I would help unite all the peoples and restore the temple. And in factm myself,  Joey and Patrick in this project have now restored the temple. Right after we do our fundraiser, we will be journeying to Columbia to activate that temple. The initial fundraising that we are doing will be for that journey, for activating the temple and taking the first steps to meet with the next group of elders who want us to move all the way across the Amazon and unite everybody. So, the rebuilding and activating the temple has now given the indigenous people the helm again in their beliefs. Now we will follow the rest of the plan. The prophecy is simply that we’re supposed to get all of the indigenous peoples to come together and see their commonality to save their own land and their own culture and their own contributions to the planet.

What is particularly different about that and what people might want to know is that all the amazing great people that have gone to help the people in the Amazon almost always go to help, however they were not invited. So there’s this reoccurring thing “that people in the Amazon need help so we’re going to help save them” without them asking to be saved. In our case it’s the only time anyone or someone has been invited to come, and actually showed up. So, I’ve been asked to create the situation of how we could unite all the indigenous people, because the indigenous people are just like everyone else. You go to one indigenous tribe and they asked to be saved first and then request that you go to another indigenous tribe and save them after. It’s like they are human beings and so I have to deal with the reality of the fact that everybody is used to thinking of themselves first and then other people later. I have to find a way to unite them all in a commonality where they all see themselves as one. There are a couple of components to that. One is I have to bring them all together, and they are ready. Of course they believe that I can do it and we have over 100 tribal groups already that have invited me specifically to do this. So, this will be a first. I will be following the wisdom of the elders as we meet and connect with them.

The question that comes to mind is what exactly are you saving them from and why save the Amazon in the first place?

Currently the Amazon is the heart and the lungs of the entire planet. All of the drug related plans for cancer and for every disease we’ve ever had, 90% of them have come from the Amazon. We’ve learned how to use them and what they are from the indigenous people. And in addition, much of the medicine and many of the spiritual practices that we have also come from those same people. So what’s happening now is the water in the Amazon, the largest body of freshwater in the whole world is so polluted that nobody can drink it. It’s poisoning all of the animals and all of the people, and that’s number one.

Number two the entire Amazon is burning all over the place. The reason it’s burning is because of greed. Mining and petroleum companies are moving in there because there is great wealth under the ground. They are burning down all of the jungles in the forest and those trees and that jungle provides 80% of our oxygen. It’s been decimated by 30% in the last five years. So literally if it Burns for a few more years, we will all die because we won’t be able to breathe anymore. So that is what they are trying to save and that’s what we are trying to save. But in addition, we are saving the plants that will later become the cures for the people and we are saving the wisdom of what these people have seen and remembered for thousands and thousands of years.

The event will include the display of several art pieces donated by artist Chaz Guest and a Fashion/Art Installation by world-renowned Iconic fashion designer Sue Wong, who has graciously donated 60 of her glamorous Hollywood gowns to raise money for the indigenous tribes of the Amazon. All Sue Wong designer gowns are available for sale and are perfect for prom, Spring/Summer weddings, anniversary celebrations and Red Carpet Events.
