Review: THE AMERICAN RELICS “My Impala”

THE AMERICAN RELICS have taken us on a journey back to nostalgic times with their new release “My Impala” via Tribeca Records. The past is never lost to us. We carry it in every step we go. It’s in our body and our soul. It is where we have been. It is where we made our mistakes and where we can fix them. Only “My Impala” is no mistake….. but rather an exquisite musical adventure.

Frontman John Gitano wrote the song and takes the lead vocals. Adrienne Dugger lends her harmony to the record and the song becomes an overnight sensation creating a huge buzz. “My Impala” is the band’s debut release on the Tribeca Record label.

“My Impala” is written and performed with sincere sensitivity. It’s compelling and it evokes “anemoia”,  a nostalgic sense of longing for a past you yourself have never lived. It is a yearning for the good old days that perhaps you were too young to have known. It connotes a time that might be better than the one we are living in at present. Nostalgia has been known to not represent the past as it actually happened but rather the past as we imagined it. “My Impala” puts us in the midst of what it was really all about.

The world ships in the climate changes. Life is a journey defined by whatever our experiences are. It is a voyage that we all make from youth to maturity. THE AMERICAN RELICS have lived through the past and have enjoyed the music for several decades, a lot of where they get their influences from. “My Impala” it’s available worldwide on all digital platforms.
