The Hunting Party Season 2 Episode 8 Manifests a Must-See Reunion as a Charming Josh Dallas Takes a Killer Turn

The Hunting Party Season 2 Episode 8 Manifests a Must-See Reunion as a Charming Josh Dallas Takes a Killer Turn

The Hunting Party finally returns Thursday, April 2.

While I’m just as tired of these hiatuses, this episode will be worth the wait.

The series featured many well-known guest stars this season, but it’s finally bringing on one of Melissa Roxburgh’s former Manifest co-stars.

We’re delighted that Josh Dallas will appear as a serial killer on The Hunting Party Season 2, Episode 8.

He and Roxburgh played Ben and Michaela Stone, siblings on Manifest, so we look forward to watching them portray a more combative relationship.

Roxburgh has wanted her old friend and coworker to appear on the show since it began, since it differs from the roles Dallas generally plays, but he’s been busy with Zootopia 2 and those tours until now.

The Hunting Party Season 2 Episode 8 Reunites Two Old Friends

Dallas and Roxburgh worked on Manifest for years. They played the Stone siblings, who understood each other even better after Flight 828 returned five and a half years later.

It’s been three years since the finale aired, and they’ve seen each other.

The two remained good friends, so Roxburgh wanted him to appear on her serial killer show. It’s always hilarious to see actors known for other roles play sinister killers.

Dallas fit in well with the rest of the cast since she knew him before, and this episode brings so many twists and turns.

It should be entertaining to see the two interact in a totally different dynamic, and it looked like they had fun playing off each other again.

The Connecticut Cobbler Strikes Again

(Ralph Bavaro/NBC)

On this new episode, Josh Dallas plays Elliot Carr, otherwise known as the Connecticut Cobbler.

At first, I thought he would fit right in Storybrooke and Once Upon a Time, carving old-fashioned wooden shoes, but he’s not that kind of shoemaker.

Elliot Carr makes exotic leather shoes out of elephants, black rhinos, and humans. Creepy, huh?

I’ll never look at my leather sandals the same again.

Since most of the serial killers have narcissistic, power, and control issues, I’m anxious to learn who triggered Elliot’s and why he wanted to turn people into shoes.

Perhaps that way, he could stomp on them and have control.

(Ralph Bavaro/NBC)

He initially killed and skinned many victims years ago, but like all the others, he’s returned, so Bex and her team must learn why his kills now differ.

Which Pit Doctor Messes With Elliot Carr’s Treatment?

We know that often the treatment in the Pit only makes the prisoners worse after the blast in The Hunting Party Season 1.

If they are not worse, they have a warped sense of justice.

To add to that, every doctor in the Pit seems to have their own agenda, whether it’s advancing brain science or seeking new experiments.

In the “Elliot Carr” photos, several doctors are featured, and that worries me, especially the ones where he’s strapped down in the Pit.

(Ralph Bavaro/NBC)

What are they doing to him, and why does he look so terrified? Most serial killers show bravado and rarely fear, so that will be a new one.

Whatever they did changed the way he carried out his plans, since we’ve heard he feels more remorseful after the Pit, yet he still kills again, or the team wouldn’t have been called in.

A remorseful killer who skins people to make shoes. That’s a twist we can’t wait to watch.

It’s the Lazarus of It All

In addition to the team hunting down Elliot Carr, the teasers also indicate that Shane tries to form a new connection with his birth mother, Eve Lazarus.

(Ralph Bavaro/NBC)

After his shocked reaction in The Hunting Party Season 2 Episode 7, I wonder whether it’s genuine curiosity or if he decides to go undercover to gather more intel on her plans for the command center.

Lazarus obviously is playing mind games after she messed up the transport for Noah Cyrus, and she knows Bex looked into her.

Acting as a spy could be dangerous. Shane is so trustworthy, and he could fall into her trap. Plus, his adoptive mom died when he was a teenager, so he’s lonely for a maternal bond.

I suspect Bex and Hassani will be nervous about this plan since they are protective of Shane.

I hope this doesn’t cause more tension if he’s forced to choose a side.
