Events, Music
In a most dramatic, and panoramic music event, pop icon, and composer Randy Edelman performed the soundscape of his life in “Around the World in 80 Minutes” to a jam-packed sold out audience. And with a burning urgency of requests via fans and followers he returns for a third time to Chelsea Table and Stage on April 9, 2022.
Randy Edelman stormed the ramparts of success early in his career with a legion of pop hits including “Uptown, Uptempo Woman” and “Concrete and Clay” (As performed on the iconic BBC series, Top of the Pops). The multi- award winning artist then turned his attention to creating some of the biggest hits of the century for some of the most popular artists in history including: “Weekend in New England” (as recorded by Barry Manilow),”Isn’t It A Shame” (as recorded by Patti LaBelle, and hip-hop star Nelly), “You” (as recorded by The Carpenters),  “The Woman on Your Arm” (as recorded by Bing Crosby) and a vast array of others.
He then devoted himself to tackling the musical sound designs and orchestrations in the film industry, becoming  one of the greatest movie phenomena’s on the planet by giving life to hundreds of blockbuster motion pictures with his scores. Included in his catalog are “My Cousin Vinny”, “ Ghostbusters ll”, “Last of the Mohicans”, “The Mask”, “Kindergarten Cop”, “Twins”, “While You Were Sleeping”, “Gettysburg“, and a boundless cascade of others. Randy also created the theme to the popular hits series MacGyver as well as themes for the Olympics, NASA, ESPN, and even the precious children’s show “The Care Bears.” He has performed at some of the most prestigious venues including The London Palladium and Budokan in Japan and has opened for artists from The Carpenters to Frank Zappa….
Aside from performing all his popular songs he included several of his motion picture medleys while also guiding the audience through an emotional earthquake with his behind the scenes touching stories, curious paradoxes, and comical anecdotes. His unconquerable spirit chaperoned the congregation through his philosophical relationship to his early songs but yet he is still speaking to where he is now with his global, post pandemic anthem “Comin’ Out the Other Side” and his newest pop/R&B tragic romantic symphony  “How Could I Let You Go.”
It takes a lot of heart to write something so beautiful. It is an ambitious undertaking to accomplish everything Randy has consummated and still continues to create. Randy Edelman is the Monday morning of responsibility and obligation to the future of humanity and its music…..
