Hunter Biden did not hold back while ranting about Jake Tapper on the July 22 episode of Don Lemon‘s podcast The Don Lemon Show. Lemon asked Joe Biden‘s son if he was friends with the CNN journalist, and Biden revealed, “I knew Jake forever. I’ve known Jake 25 years.”
Lemon then pivoted to Tapper’s 2024 book Original Sin, in which he detailed and criticized President Biden’s 2024 run for re-election.
“Here’s what I’d like to say about the book,” Biden began. “I think that Jake is a complete and utter a**hole. I think that he is a really poor journalist, and beyond that, I don’t think he’s a very decent human being. As a person, I don’t like Jake.”
Biden pointed out that “normally when someone is asked a question like that,” they’re not supposed to speak their true feelings. However, he continued, “I think he’s full of f**king s**t, that’s what I think.” He also compared Tapper to Steve Carell’s Anchorman character, Brick Tamland.
“The way he has spoken about me and the way he has spoken about my mother, the way he has spoken about my father, the idea that I would be full of s**t like everybody else usually is and be like, ‘Well, I’d like to respect Jake’s long career in journalism and he’s done good things before…’ I don’t have to say that,” Biden added. “I’m not running for anything. I’m certainly not running to be class president. I’m not running to be the most popular man on TV. So that’s the way I feel about Jake. I have a real personal grievance with him.”
Biden also insisted he’d say the same thing to Tapper’s face. “Jake, I do not like you,” he concluded. “I don’t like you at all. I have a whole host of reasons why. And that’s final.”
