What To Know
- Donald Trump and the official White House X account posted a series of AI-generated images and videos on Sunday.
- The images included Trump as the Green Lantern and targeting Robert De Niro with a fake endorsement.
- Social media users widely criticized the posts as bizarre, embarrassing, and propagandistic.
President Donald Trump went on an AI-generated image posting spree Sunday night (September 6), with the official White House X account also joining the flurry of posts.
The White House account shared an AI video of Trump in the Green Lantern universe, wearing the glowing Power Ring and using it to build a border wall to keep out immigrants and a massive American Manufacturing site. The video ends with the president posing as military aircraft fly overhead.
“In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil’s might beware my power… Green Lantern’s light!” read the caption, quoting the oath taken by members of the Green Lantern Corps in the DC comics.
The video, posted as Episode 4 of the HBO series Lanterns aired on Sunday, not only featured IP from DC Comics but also included a remixed version of Kanye West‘s 2007 hit “Flashing Lights.”
Trump himself shared several bizarre AI posts on his Truth Social account on Sunday, including one of him in an Oval Office meeting with the first U.S. president, George Washington. Another showed him renaming a sign for New Mexico to ‘New America.’

He also used AI to attack actor Robert De Niro, a longtime critic of the president. The fake image showed the Taxi Driver star holding up a T-shirt that read, “Trump is my president.” In the post’s caption, Trump wrote, “Even this jerk is beginning to get it!”

Another post included AI-generated Space Force uniforms that looked suspiciously similar to the Galactic Empire dress code in Star Wars. In another, an AI Trump was shown using an oversized hammer to smash a piece of land depicting Iran.
Social media users reacted in disbelief to many of these posts, with one X commenter writing, “This really is the cringiest collapse of a nation in real time.”
“What the f*** is this?!? Does nothing embarrass you pack of sycophantic ass clowns?” said another.
“This whole administration is a f***ing joke,” another added.
Another wrote, “There is no chance in hell the Guardians would ever entrust a lantern ring to someone like Donald Trump. The fact that they twisted the oath in this way, is a slap to comic book fans everywhere. So stop trying to use things that are popular to spread your bullshit propaganda. We are not falling for it.”
“We’re living in the dumbest times,” said one commenter.
“Somebody get grandpa his meds,” another wrote.
“Further proving Trump and the entire administration need to be removed from office. We are a disgrace on the global stage,” said another.
