Donny Osmond returned to the stage two months after his brother Alan Osmond’s death — and he shared a rare comment on the heartbreaking loss.
On June 24, the Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat alum performed with the Tabernacle Choir at the Hollywood Bowl as part of a fundraising event. He sang four songs in a lineup that included David Foster and Katharine McPhee, among others.
“I miss him, I miss him dearly — and I miss my brother Wayne, I’ve lost two brothers in a year and a half,” Donny, 68, told Hello! “But my core belief is that I’m going to see them again. So it’s not the grieving feeling that I’m sure a lot of people go through when you think, ‘Will I ever see them again?’ I know I’ll see them again.”
The former Donny & Marie star added, “I think they’re probably up there making music right now. I think they got a hit record up in heaven or something!”
On April 20, Alan, the oldest member of The Osmonds, died at age 76. His death came just over a year after another brother, Wayne Osmond, died at 73 on January 1, 2025.
Donny took to Instagram one day after Alan’s death to share a heartfelt tribute to his late sibling. “This is one of the earliest pictures I have of my brother Alan and me,” he began. “Even back then, you can see that he had his arm around me, watching over me. That’s who he was. My protector. My guide. The one who quietly carried so much responsibility so the rest of us could shine.”
The bereaved brother continued, “Alan was our leader in every sense of the word. His tireless work helped build everything we became. I will always be grateful for the sacrifices he made and the love he showed — not just to me, but to every member of our family. I owe him more than I can ever fully express.
To conclude his update, Donny declared, “I love you, Alan. Thank you for always being there for me. Till we meet again, Brother Donny.”
In addition to Donny, Alan, and Wayne, there were six other Osmond siblings: Virl Osmond, Tom Osmond, Merrill Osmond, Jay Osmond, Marie Osmond, and Jimmy Osmond.
