- Eddie Murphy is attached to new drama series ‘The Chairman.’
- ‘Mad Men’ creator Matthew Weiner is behind the new show.
- Peacock has the series in development.
Despite getting his screen start on TV via legendary comedy series ‘Saturday Night Live,’ Eddie Murphy is much more closely associated with his movie work, including the recent return to one of his more famous roles with ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.’
But if streaming service Peacock and ‘Mad Men’ creator have their way, he’ll be making his live-action fictional TV debut on new drama series ‘The Chairman.’
The series is only in development right now, but the presence of Weiner and Murphy surely means it has a good shot of getting a greenlight.

What’s the story of ‘The Chairman’?

That’s the big question at this point –– nobody is spilling any real details. The title suggests it returns to Weiner’s old stomping ground of business, but with a fresh twist.
Will Murphy go full dramatic, or will there be room for his comic stylings? It all remains to be seen.
Where else can we see Eddie Murphy?

Most recently leading action comedy crime movie ‘The Pickup,’ Murphy is attached to several movies, including a new ‘Pink Panther’ and comedy ‘Attachment Parenting.’
But he’ll be heard rather than seen in the next outing for the ‘Shrek’ franchise as Donkey, with ‘Shrek 5’ due on June 30th next year.
