Business, LifeStyle

The grand debut of “Sue Wong Designer Homes” Red Carpet event marked both literally and symbolically the aperture of Hollywood. Although a prelude to the marketing of Villa Feliz, her completely renovated 6000 square-foot hacienda by the devotion of her own hands and the celebration of her birthday, the event was defined not by what she let go but by what she let in.

“The present seems more perfect when it seeds lie in the past. Life is rendered flawless when we look toward the future.” Sue Wong’s fashion designs are often themed from  old Hollywood glamour, while both Villa Feliz and the renovated residence, the famous “Cedars” were both originally built in the 1920s. Her own history is both charming and inspiring. Beginning her life and fleeing Maoist China as a young child, Sue Wong is a self-made woman who uses history not to control the world but to enlarge, deepen, and inspire others.

The party itself inspired many to finally see the light of day and join in the celebrated festivities. Some of the celebrities present included: Billy Zane from Titanic, Ken Davitian from Borat, Jack O’Halloran, the original villain in Superman, Claudia Wells from Back to the Future, scream queens Sadie Katz and Sheri Davis, Ronn Moss from The Bold and the Beautiful, Mike Ferguson from Animal Kingdom, and many others. Also present were some of the biggest rock stars known to man including: Chris Pitman from Guns N’ Roses, Scott Page from Pink Floyd, Chris Wyse from the Hollywood Vampires, Dave Kendrick from Devo, Kenny Aronoff from Smashing Pumpkins, Jon Tempesta from The Cult, Frank Schubert from Revolushn, Rachel Rine and Jenna Snyde from Paradise Kitty, Will Champlin, 2x Grammy winner, Derek Day, Think:EXP, John Walsh and again Ron Moss from Player, and it’s iconic bassist Leland Sklar from Toto, Phil Collins, Linda Ronstadt, and nearly everyone else on the planet. Socialite Kick Kennedy also arrived.

Ms. Wong also allowed East to meet West with her beautiful models including supermodel Eugenia Kuzmina, The Golden Girls Dance Troop and the VENERABLE ABBOT, SHI YANFAN of the SHAOLIN TEMPLE, who is the head of the Shaolin Temple for all of North America.

Drinks via Rock’d Vodka and wine by Smith Devereux was served poolside along with gourmet hors d’oeuvres and a cascade of smiles. Private tours of the 6 bedroom, 7 1/2 bath mansion were provided and a barrage of cameras and media flashed throughout the event.

As the evening approached we were magically transported to her residence The Cedars, one of the most historically rock n roll and old Hollywood homes in existence with former residents including Bela Lugosi, Johnny Depp, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and many others. The spirit of the home allowed one to tap into echoes of decades past like stepping through a doorway where the ghosts of rock lurked in the shadows. However, aside from the ghosts we enjoyed a world class super jam from the rockers who had come to the main event. It’s my understanding that the party remained in full force and effect until the wee hours of the night….

Ultimately the event was one of the most successful endeavors that I have covered and the happiness that Ms. Wong provided was the best thing that has happened this year. Kudos to Sue Wong who had the courage and vision to provide such a well thought out and extravagant engagement.

Villa Feliz is the first of many to come, Sue Wong Designer Estates, and this living canvas of art is FOR SALE: $6,200,000 or Fully Furnished $6,995,000 (One-Of-A-Kind Andalusian/Moroccan Furnishings)
