Academy of Country Music Awards
SUNDAY: Shania Twain hosts the country-music awards extravaganza, which returns to Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Let’s hope she performs her signature hit “Man! I Feel Like a Woman,” because women lead the pack of nominees, with Megan Moroney (nine), Miranda Lambert (eight), Ella Langley, and Lainey Wilson (seven each) leading the field. Moroney and Wilson are also nominated for the prestigious Entertainer of the Year prize, alongside Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and Morgan Wallen. Lambert, Langley, Wilson and Johnson are confirmed to perform, on a roster including Kacey Musgraves making her ACM Awards performance debut, Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett, Riley Green, Little Big Town, The Red Clay Strays (last year’s New Group of the Year), Tucker Wetmore, and Zach Top (this year’s and last year’s New Male Artist of the Year) and more. Alternative screening platforms include the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and the Amazon Music app.

Saturday Night Live
SATURDAY: Living legends take the Studio 8H stage as the iconic late-night comedy show bids farewell to Season 51. Former cast member Will Ferrell, who earned his “Five-Timers Club” jacket when he last appeared in Season 45, returns for his sixth round as guest host. He’ll be introducing Paul McCartney, the ex-Beatle still going strong at 83, who’s making his fifth appearance as musical guest in advance of his new album, “The Boys of Dungeon Lane,” being released later this month.

Naked and Afraid: Global Showdown
SUNDAY: The survivalist series that lets it all hang out takes on an international Survivor feel in a spinoff competition, pitting 14 contestants in seven teams representing four countries. Four teams are from the U.S., one representing Texas and the others covering the East, South, and West. In the unforgiving terrain of South Africa’s Zululand, they’ll take on teams from Australia, Brazil, and Mexico, all vying for a $200,000 grand prize and national bragging rights. (Somehow, we expect this version of a World Cup will look a little different.) In another twist, the teams earn points in a new scoring system by tackling survival tasks and competing in challenges, with the winners safe from elimination and reaping rewards including food, water, and shelter. The bottom two teams go head-to-head in an elimination challenge, at which point they can return to civilization.

The 500: Immortality at Indy
SATURDAY: In its second year of broadcasting the Indianapolis 500, Fox Sports honors the iconic race’s history in a documentary hosted by nine-time Indy 500 racer and Fox analyst James Hinchcliffe. Airing at the conclusion of the first day of qualifying, the special goes inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum to spotlight artifacts representing some of the defining moments and legends over the race’s more than century-long history. (The 110th running is scheduled for May 24.) Among the racers participating: Helio Castroneves, Janet Guthrie, Arie Luyendyk, reigning champ Álex Palou, Danica Patrick, Scott Dixon, and Lyn St. James. Apparently, it’s never too early to start your engines.

The episode’s title, “Chrono Stasis,” refers to the mysterious institute in Alaska where their dad was involved in government experiments involving the testing of children. (How Stephen King of him.)
