Today we will be interviewing Kristina Edwards, a social media mega-influencer who started her career as a social media influencer three years ago and became a star in the field within three years. Let’s talk to Kristina about the future of influencer marketing.

Interviewer:

In your experience, what is lacking in the world of influencer marketing? What are the things that you want to change, and how?

Kristina Edwards:

Well, influencer marketing is far from perfect. That’s true about any marketing, or anything for that matter. The thing I believe that is lacking the most in influencer marketing is originality and creative freedom. I regularly see a lot of remakes and a lot of viral reels that thousands of people have copied and duplicated without giving their real creators any credit. That needs to stop. It may be admiration, yes, but it’s also not exercising your creativity. And most importantly, it’s unethical. I would love for influencers to just share what they feel and how they should be. A true influencer, I strongly believe, presents her or his true personality and true self. If you know who you are and show your real self to people, finding the right audience for yourself isn’t that hard after that.

Interviewer:

Do you believe influencer marketing is helping the world become a better and more positive place?

Kristina Edwards:

I’m so glad you asked this. My partner Alexis and I own Classy Chic Marketing, where we help brands grow with marking campaigns. When these campaigns kick-off, the brand exposure then rockets within no time as it’s being shared thousands of times. Ads perform similarly, target audiences, and run campaigns. I absolutely believe influencer marketing is making a positive difference.

Interviewer:

In your expert opinion, do you think in the future people will rely more on micro-influencers as compared to macro-influencers?

Kristina Edwards:

In my opinion, I believe that people will rely on macro influencers more than micro-influencers. That’s because they’ve likely been around longer. They have struggled a lot and made their place. They are already more famous because most of them are already a part of the entertainment and fashion industry. Whether people rely on micro or macro influencers, one thing will remain the same, and that is that people will always generally rely on those who they trust. As an influencer, earning the trust of your audience is super important.

Interviewer:

Do you believe social media is blurring the lines between work life and personal life?

Kristina Edwards:

I do believe social media is blurring the lines between work and personal life. Influencers like me can engage in their professional activities while they are doing their day-to-day chores. I can work on a campaign through my phone while I am spending time with my family. People often look at this blurring of the line in a negative way. However, I believe there is also a certain beauty to it. Social media gives the user the ability to set a boundary around what’s private while also sharing the things that are super relatable. The reason why people like social media influencers so much is because they feel a certain connection to them.
